THE SAVE COLCHESTER TOWN CAMPAIGN
tollgate retail park -June 2015
Save Colchester Town previously acted as a strong and effective alliance of local organisations using the town centre, who had concerns about proposed traffic changes. It made sure the voices of those who care most about the town centre, and who work hardest to help it thrive, were heard at a critical time.
Save Colchester Town has been inactive since 2013, but is being reformed to oppose the out of town Tollgate Retail Park planning application. Once again we must act – and very quickly, as the planning application is set to be determined in a few weeks – to protect the town centre against an even greater threat.
URGENT – Protect Colchester Town Centre from the out of town Tollgate Retail Park
As of mid-June 2015 the Council has received more correspondence in support of the planning application than against it. The danger, as things stand, is the strength of local opposition will not be clear to those deciding whether to approve the planning application.
By e-mailing the Council’s planning department with an objection, you can help increase the likelihood that planning permission will be refused.
Please act as soon as possible, so your objection can have maximum impact.
How do I do it?
What can I say?
It’s vitally important that the town centre businesses unite as we did a while back when the traffic regulation orders imposed traffic restrictions that threatening our survival.
Please feel free to tell us if you’ve objected, the more voices we have the better it will be for the town centre.
